Our Foundations & Growth
The Rotary Club of Woji Town was formed on the 15th of February, 2018 as a Provisional Club and was later chartered on the 9th of May 2018 by the Rotary Club of Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Late Rotarian Helen Ukpe became its chartered President following the relocation of the Provisional President, Rotarian Franklin Kentebe.
The Club was inaugurated on the 18th of February, 2018. It operated first at Royal Crest Hotel, Woji and Evalyn Hotel and Lounge, Ilom Street, Woji until 2019 when it moved to its present venue, the Jazz Hotels & Bar, No. 28 Elitor Street, Woji Town, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

2018
The club is founded
A diverse group of passionate visionaries came together with a shared goal: to create something truly lasting. They firmly believed that Woji communities in Port Harcourt deserved better opportunities and a brighter future, and they were wholeheartedly committed to putting in the hard work necessary to make that vision a reality.
2023
First major health initiative
We proudly launched our complimentary eye examination program, transforming the lives of those who had lost their sight. Hundreds of residents in Port Harcourt received not only glasses but also a renewed sense of hope and possibility.
2025 to date
Expansion into education
The Skill-Up Project was launched to empower young individuals by providing training in various vocational trades. We believe that true and lasting change occurs when people are equipped with the necessary tools and skills to create their own futures. By investing in their education and practical experience, we aim to foster independence and self-sufficiency among the youth.
2023
Water reaches Bonny Island
The Bonny Wash Water Project successfully provided clean water to thousands of people, transforming lives and communities. This initiative demonstrated that when Rotarians dedicate themselves to a cause, no distance or challenge is too great to overcome. Their unwavering commitment has made a significant impact, showcasing the power of collective action in addressing vital needs.

District 9141 and RI Activities
The club has continued to contribute and participate profoundly in all District 9141 activities, including Rotary International Conferences. It also belongs to some Rotary Action Groups.

Every Naira or Dollar donation you give goes directly to our projects, apart from Rotary Foundation, PolioPlus and annual dues that go to Rotary International. We maintain complete transparency about our finances. Audit reports are available to members. We keep overhead low so more money reaches the people who need it.
We gather every Wednesday evening at 6:00pm for dinner and fellowship at our fellowship venue, Jazz Hotels & Bar, 28 Elitor Street, Woji, Behind Woji Town Hall.
At our fellowship we share discussions on a variety of issues, updates on projects, new initiatives, contemplatory life issues, and strengthen the bonds that make us a true community. Guests are always welcome. Members & guests who cannot join physically can join via meeting link.
Absolutely. We welcome volunteers on our project days. You'll work alongside Rotarians and see firsthand the impact we create. Many volunteers eventually become members. Others simply want to help. Both are valued equally.
