Free vision care
Comprehensive vision care is essential for both children and adults, especially for those who are in greatest need. Our services aim to ensure that everyone has access to the eye care they deserve.
The work behind clear vision
Vision fails quietly. A child cannot read the board. A farmer misses the rows in his field. A mother squints at her grandchild's face and sees only shapes. Port Harcourt has thousands who live this way, their potential dimmed by something as simple as the wrong lens.
We began this program because we believed that sight should not be a luxury. In 2019, our volunteers started moving through communities with basic equipment and determination. We set up in schools, in markets, in village squares. We examined eyes. We fitted glasses. We watched people see clearly for the first time in years.
The work is straightforward but demanding. Our teams spend weeks in the field, moving from location to location. We train local health workers so the effort continues after we leave. We partner with suppliers to keep costs low. We measure everything because results matter more than intentions.
This is not charity dressed up in good words. It is work. It is sustained, careful work that respects the people we serve. When a teacher can see the faces of her students again, when a trader can count his goods without guessing, when a child reads without strain, the work proves itself.
We continue because the need continues. Port Harcourt still has thousands waiting. We will keep going until everyone who needs sight has the chance to see.

How we work
Three core activities drive this program forward

Mobile eye clinics reach remote areas
Our teams travel to schools and villages with portable equipment. We examine every person who comes, recording results and identifying those who need glasses. No one is turned away. We work until everyone in the target area has been screened.

Glasses fitted on the spot
We prioritize immediate service for our customers. After your eye exam, we fit your glasses right away, so you don’t have to wait. Our efficient supply chain ensures the right prescriptions are available, allowing you to leave with clear vision the same day. We aim for your convenience and satisfaction, so you walk out feeling confident.
We identify where the need is greatest
Before any clinic opens, we work with local leaders to understand the community. We learn where people live, how many need help, what barriers exist. This groundwork ensures we reach those who need us most.

Teams arrive and begin the work
Local health workers are actively assisting in the clinic, gaining valuable experience and knowledge as we navigate the process together. The clinic operates continuously for several days, ensuring that every individual in the community receives the care they need. We are committed to providing comprehensive services and addressing any health concerns that arise during this time.

We train locals to continue the work
Before we depart, we provide comprehensive training for community health workers on essential screening techniques and maintenance practices. Additionally, we set up efficient supply chains that empower them to order glasses independently, ensuring sustainability. This way, our efforts can persist and thrive even in our absence.
